Alison Wright is an English actor from England. Her best-known role is as Martha Hanson in the FX the spy-themed period series The Americans. She received not only praise from critics but also nominations for a Primetime Emmy Award for this. She also been a part of Ryan Murphy's limited television series Feud and Bette & Joan & Hollywood. Wright was born 12 July 1976, from Sunderland, Tyne and Wear, where she was raised by adoptive parents. She began dancing and acting at a young age. She attended the New York City's Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute and The Barrow Group. She worked as a waitress and auditioned for roles. Scuba diving was one of her hobbies, a great passion of hers, and suffered a cardiac event at sea which left her in a state of coma. Six days later she died in peace, with her loved ones by her side. Wright was born in Sunderland on 12th July 1976. Her adoptive parents took care of her in the city. She began dancing and acting at a young age.
